Many of our app makers have asked me how they can improve their social media marketing. Social media marketing can take place on any online social network. This includes: Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook. In fact, any online network in which you build a group of friends or followers who you are able to interact with in real-time is considered social media. In today’s post I am going to focus on one particular social network: Facebook.
Facebook for your Android app
Facebook remains one of the most popular of all social networks, and this is the reason why I have decided to make this my focal point today. We are going to look at the tactics that are available to make the most of your Facebook page.
The hardest part of Facebook is to keep your page live in your followers’ news feed. Did you know that only a tiny percent of people will go directly to a page to see latest news? Most clicks come from people that have spotted an updated news article on their news feed. To keep your newsfeed live in your followers’ newsfeed you need them to be visiting your page often. The more action based items you can place on your page, the more people will click. For example, email your customers about a Facebook promotion. These people will come to your page, and then your page will begin to show in their feed. Don’t leave too long between interactions; make sure you are getting them to frequent the page as much as possible
Understand your audience – Don’t just post things that you think are interesting. Instead, look at what is getting feedback from your audience. Listen to what they want, and post more of it. The simple things to look for are whether or not they are enjoying your images, your industry news, the behind-the-scenes news that you may be posting. Another point to take note of is when your audience is active. Are they more likely to comment between 1pm and 3 pm? If so, then you should be active then to create real-time feedback. It is time for you to create a content and timing strategy.
New products and services are a great way to get people to your page. You need to be advertising as little as possible on your page, except when it comes to showing off your new products and services. Make sure though, that your users get something out of clicking like on your page and on your links. Using sponsored posts to highlight a new service is a great tool for promotion.
Make your news newsworthy – Do you know that many journalists pick up their information from Facebook pages? You need to be making headline news on your page to get it picked up and taken viral. Using Facebook to release your company news is bigger news than sending out a press release. Th reason lays in the ability for a news item to be shared.
