Today, the Android app making tool template pros and cons series will look at the YouTube app making tool template.
What is the YouTube app making template?
As you may be aware, YouTube is a video sharing website that allows users to upload, view and share their personal videos. What is great about YouTube is that it is possible for anyone to view this site without having to be registered to YouTube. Creating an app that links to YouTube, allows you to share your videos easily. You can read more about how to use this app making template tool here. http://www.appsgeyser.com/blog/2012/10/08/how-to-make-a-youtube-app-in-under-5-minutes/
Advantages
Visual – Getting your message across in video will attract a different audience range. Different people have different learning styles, and this carries on into marketing, visual learners will grasp your message through video more easily than a website, text based message.
App size– Due to the video being held on the servers at YouTube the size of your app will not be large and therefore will be able to open with ease. Heavier content on an app can cause the app to have difficulties in opening.
Ease – Video will get your message across to your audience in a short time frame. Unlike text, your message can be conveyed within 30 seconds to 1 minute. Reading this information would take your user a lot longer. Quick, visual dynamic messages captures imagination.
Disadvantages
Branding – The YouTube feature will not bring home your branding as well as other app templates may. The choice of having your logo within this app, you brands colors and your brand’s overall feel is very limited.
Internet connection – YouTube requires a strong internet link, more than a regular website due to the format of video files, this may at times cause the app to cease periodically whilst the video is being viewed.
Mobile optimization – Not all videos on Youtube have been uploaded in a format that will allow then to be viewed at their best on a mobile phone. If you are uploading your own videos, then making optimizing them for mobile is simple. Follow this blog post for more information.

Yesterday we started out on our app making mission. We took the first step on the path to our app making success mission and now is time for the fun to begin. Today we are going to look at which app template we are going to use, we will name our app, and we will create our app description.
Deciding on your template
AppsGeyser has a large range of different app templates to choose from, each bring their own different style to your application. It is important when choosing your app template you ask yourself the question – What will my app do? Will it show photos, will it show my videos, will it provide news about the subject? Then you can see which app template suits your needs.
When making an Android app from scratch for the first time we suggest starting with something simple to get used to using the tools, marketing and promoting your app before you build up your app network with more advanced tools.
I have decided for the app we are making together, our dog show app, I am going to start with an easy to build wallpaper app. A wallpaper app is built using the photo template and I will create a Facebook fan page to collate all my photos. Click here to see more information about creating a wallpaper app.

Deciding on your name
I am going to use Google Adwords to help me choose a keyword relevant app name. The reason I want my app to be keyword relevant is because this will help my app to place higher in Google searches. I have decided to call my app, Dog Show Photos because it will feature dog show photos. As you can see the competition level is low and there are currently 2900 native searches for these words.

Writing your description
Keep your description short and factual. You don’t want to bored your potential user. I have chosen to use my keywords twice in my description and I have kept it to the minimum of just two sentences which I feel tells the potential user what to expect when they open the app.

Simple description
I hope this step has helped you get started in making an Android app from scratch – our tutorial will continue later in the week – keep watching this space. Follow us on Facebook too.
