Last week we published an email that was sent to us from a successful Appreneur and since then we have been inundated with emails. It seems that AppsGeyser App makers want to share their success stories. I have to thank you all, it is wonderful reading all your comments and seeing how you have taken our app making tools and turned them into your own success stories.

Today I want to share with you some snippets from the emails that we have received. I have to say that we can’t promote each and every one of you personally so to keep this fair I have decided to keep all the quotes anonymous. We decided to allow AppsGeyser app makers share their success stories here and brighten up the start of the week for everyone.

User has over 20,000 downloads

“I wanted to thank you AppsGeyser for not only providing us with fantastic Android app making tools but for also teaching us how to get our application noticed and downloaded. The tools are so easy to use, at first I didn’t bother reading your blog, but after 3 weeks in GooglePlay I still had only 4 downloads, seriously, 4 downloads, I decided to look at the blog and see if there were any tips to help get my app noticed. Now it all makes sense, I used a name and app icon that did not explain to my potential audience who we were. I renamed my app and began a social networking campaign and within two months I had 20,000 downloads. Thank you”

New app business

“I have been out of work for over 6 months, I tried getting work and sent my CV to hundreds of companies, no one was interested. One day I found your site, recommended by my friend and I started to play with it. I found it really interesting so I made a plan to create and publish apps. I now have 15 apps in GooglePlay and a nice monthly income just from Affiliate advertising. I am looking now at making some local apps and charging for private advertising. No more sending CVs for me, I am an appreneur.”

Increased sales

“My retail store has been in business for ten years now, but in the past few years sales have been dropping. I was told a few times that I should get a website and promote my store online, but to be honest I had no idea where to start. A friend of mine did some research for me and showed me one of your blog posts about creating a website and turning it into a mobile app. To me this was exciting, but how could someone like me make a website, it would cost a fortune. After I read the blog post I decided to give it a try. I love it, I made my own website and I turned it into an app. I now promote this website and app and I have seen my sales have increased. People come to me telling me they’ve seen me ‘online’ and my prices are cheaper so they’ve come to the store. Wow, thank you.”

We love hearing app makers share their success stories, if you have a success story you’d like to share with us, please email it to kim@appsgeyser.com

The new Android keyboard – out with QWERTY in with KALQ

How many times have you sent a text message on your mobile phone or your tablet and with fat finger syndrome you’ve accidently misspelt a word and the message ends up with a totally different meaning to what you set out to say? Researchers from the University of St Andrews, the Max Planck Institute for Informatics and Montana Tech have been playing with all different keyboard styles to come up with the most optimized keyboard for mobile and tablet use, and they have come up with a solution, it’s the thumb only keyboard called KALQ. Rumors have it that this free Android app will become available after May 1st 2013.

5.0 Key Lime Pie is to be delayed

We always like the strange yet sweet names given to Android updates, but the latest update is rumored to be running behind schedule and will not be ready for release between May 14 -16th at Google’s I/O event.  The reasons cited for the delay is that with the already fragmented Android market, Google wanted to make sure that hardware makers had enough time to finish rolling out Android 4.2 Jelly Bean before this latest addition was introduced.  What we need to do, is sit back and wait for the announcements at Google I/O to see which Key Lime Pie devices are revealed for autumn release.

Hope you had fun reading the latest Android World news, we will always do our best to keep you updated on what is new and exciting in the mobile sphere.
