It’s the weekend and time to start having some fun. How about over the weekend you start creating some fun apps. This is a good way to practice your app making skills while having some fun. Here are five simple ideas to get you going.
1: Photo caption app – You need to use a Facebook photo page for this app. When you start creating your app connect it to you Facebook photo album in which you upload the funny caption photos to. To make this app interactive encourage your users to email you their funny photos which you will upload to the Facebook page and then caption. This will keep users coming back to see the app as it is constantly updated.

2: What to do when… video app – This needs explaining. What you need to do is create a simple website, which you can create using a website template page such as imcreator.com. On this website make a list of 10 different situations on the front page, such as; what to do when you need to talk to your boss about a payrise, what to do when you need the toilet in the middle of an important meeting. At the end of each sentence have a hyperlink to a funny youtube video. To keep people coming back to this app, get them to send in the sentence suggestions.
3: Silly music app – Yes, the most annoying apps out there are those that play annoying or silly music. Based around the same principal as the What to do when app, create a website that has situations written on it, when the user clicks on the situation they will hear the tunes that you have linked to.

4: Daily joke app – Create an app using the RRS feed tool and put in the search terms jokes. The only thing that you will need to be certain about is that you are not linking to x-rated joke content. If the language is not suitable for under 18s you really need to make this clear in your app description.
5: Soundboard app – Yes, its that dreaded press the button for a silly noise app. – There are plenty of website out there that you can get material from, always check that its acceptable to reuse their material though. How about an app with big red button with “PUSH” text. Pushing this button do something fun and silly try the no.com website , or Nyancat app , in fact you can use any fun gif.
