There are many other app stores out there, in fact countries like China and Korea don’t even have access to Google Play. If you haven’t heard of an app store, don’t panic, someone else might have and could find your app there. Listing you app on multiple sites will not damage your app, but will increase the opportunity of people finding your app.

Here is our list of the top five Android app stores at present:

1: Google Play
Google Play, previously called Android Market, is the most popular Android app store. What helps makes Google Play so successful is that all Android Smartphones come with the Google Play already installed and therefore it is easily accessible for Android users. With no review process your app can be released into the app marketplace in minutes. The downside to this app store is that is extremely crowded making your app harder to find.

Creating your app has proven to be easier than you expected thanks to AppsGeyser. You are now ready to submit your app to Google Play and you need to decide; free or fee?

Should I charge for my Android app?

Should I charge for my Android app?

There is one main question you need to ask yourself before you decide to charge for your android App. Will people be willing to pay money for an app they haven’t tested?

Initial simple math shouts charge; if you charge $5.99 per download, and 100 people immediately download your app, you have a quick profit. Or do you?

Marketing is the key to any business success, and we believe that initial free downloads of your app should be part of your marketing plan. By offering free downloads you are allowing more people to gain access to your app. It is a little bit like fishing; throw in the bait, catch a fish, and then reel it in. The same formula applies with the app market.

By offering your app for free you are allowing people to test your product against some of your potential competitors without taking a risk. Even at just $0.99 getting potential users to pay is a hard sale.

Consider a free trial

Many companies offer a free trial version of their app. The slimmed down version of the app should highlight all the fantastic features that the app has to offer. What you are doing here is throwing in your bait and getting people hooked.

You are still able to monetize your free app in a number of ways. The following list is only an example of the many ways you can generate an income:

• simple banner ads
• full page adds
• push notifications
• affiliate discount links
• affiliate pay-per-call links
• direct advertisement

Place throughout your app buttons that link the user to the pro-version of your app. This gives your user the opportunity, at any point, to buy into the product, into your brand and your business. The key is to get the user to love your app so much that they will download the full version, with no ads. A user will pay for value.

Good luck with your decision on whether to go free or fee. Let us know what decision you made and how it goes.
