Create an Android App from Scratch – AppsGeyser App

Tuesday, March 26th, 2013

A few weeks ago we published the ‘create an Android app from scratch’ series. The aim of the series was to help take you, the app maker, through the process for creating an app from scratch. We took you through the steps from deciding on an app idea, through to publishing your app to Google Play and alternate app stores.

The roadmap to Android app success is the overall view of how an app is created to succeed, after all, what is the point of creating an app if it isn’t for it to succeed? The roadmap sets out the points that are described in details in the create an Android app from scratch series.

Shortly we will be creating an app that will allow you to view all these steps on your mobile phone, in the meantime you may use our Appsgeyser link to view the app that is in its infancy stage.

We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments or on Facebook or Twitter,

Create an App from Scratch – Building your network

Friday, March 1st, 2013

We have finally come to the last in our ‘create an app from scratch’ series. I hope that this series has helped you on your way to creating your first app and is the start to a successful app making career for you all.

The final step in creating a successful app is the building of a successful network. Most successful app makers have a range of apps in their portfolio, this helps create a good impression with the audience that you know your subject well.

Let us look back at the first app that we created, we created an app using the photo template that we connected to our Facebook album on our fan page. This app was created so our app users can download and save our wonderful dog images to their own mobile devices.

You can access the current link to the app that we built by clicking here.  Or you can simply use our ‘keywords’ to find the app in the app store – Dog Show Photos.

The second app that we built can be accessed by clicking here. Or you can simple type in the keywords – Dog screensaver

What other apps can I make?

AppsGeyser has a total of 10 different app templates that you can use to create your app network. We will look briefly how we can turn these templates into quick easy apps for our Dog subject.

1: Browser app

The Browser app tool is the template that allows you to navigate various web resources from within the app. Here we can find a range of dog related websites that we like best that we can link to our app. Make sure that you check all copyrights before you do this.

2: RSS app

The RSS app tool allows the app maker to create a pre-set search for real time news on a chosen topic, our case we will set a search for cute dogs. You can also choose to link the app to a particular RSS feed from a chosen website instead of creating a general search.

3: YouTube video app

The YouTube app tool allows you to create a visually appealing app that opens up the app to the video web. We can set our YouTube video app to the search term ‘funny dog videos’ to give our app users some giggles throughout the day. This type of app is always a hit.

4: Website app

This is our most commonly used app making tool. This app is linked to your own personal website that has been optimized for mobile use . For our series, this app will be connected to our Facebook page and it can then be used as a social app.

5: PDF app

If you are feeling brave and want to try something more technical then you may create a PDF app. In our case we can create a PDF app from files that contain dog related facts that may be of interest to our audience.

As you can see, you can create an app from scratch and an app network around your chosen subject in a short time. Follow the steps in our create an app from scratch series and follow the path to app success and soon, (it can take a few months to fall into place) you will be on your way to app success.
